Goals
Before we meet for our Season Planning Meeting, skaters will fill out a form about their goals for this upcoming year.
Based upon what the goals are, I will let the family know what this is going to take.
In the planning meeting, families and I can discuss what this looks like and what the family and skater are willing to do.
Yearly Plan
Skaters meet with me once a year to plan out their season. The season consists of the off season, pre-season, in season and post season. There are different things we need to accomplish in each time frame. By planning out the year, it also helps us know when skaters are going to be training more intensely and when things will be lower key. It helps us know when more off ice is needed, when tests are being passed, etc.
This plan incorporates any goals that the skaters have, and it helps them know what to expect this upcoming year. It also helps all of us be proactive about the future.
For the most part, a “Season Planning Meeting” can be accomplished in a normal 15 min Google meet appointment with me. For anyone who has more intricate goals, they will receive an invite from me about planning out their season. There is no charge for this meeting if you receive an invite from me.
If families choose to do things that undermines the skater's goals (i.e. take off extra time, miss lots of lessons, not show up to off ice, etc.) they are telling me that they are changing the goals. Families have to do their part to make sure their actions match what is set at the season planning meeting. This is why we have contracts.
Contracts
All Tier 1 and Tier 2 skaters sign contracts for my coaching services.
The purpose behind these contracts is to make sure the goals, work that has to be done, and anything else is clear for all of us.
It is also to ensure there is follow through and all parties follow through on the plan that is set up. Sticking with the plan is going to help skaters improve and everything be more clear and efficient.
Contracts have the same general content for everyone, but there are also some items that we will individualize to fit each athlete and what they need.
Contracts are usually for about one year.
