Spinners

For the next year, there is no formalities with the spinner however, skaters and families need to plan for their skaters to be on the electric spinner every time they skate or are at the rink. Skaters need to have a variety of time to simply work on standing exercises on the spinner as well going up in the harness. Being on the spinner is going to be very essential for skaters to learn jumps and rotation faster. We have also found that the spinner is helping a lot with the dynamic movements that are need in choreographic sequences and to gain the key points in step sequences.

We try to incorporate the spinners as much as possible~ I try to do it as much as possible in off ice classes or to have the spinner simply turned on so skaters can do the standing exercises on their own. However, there are going to be times skaters may have to stay longer to use the spinner simply because there is only one spinner.

My goal for the next year is to have each skater on the electric spinner actually spinning for 30 min per week. That will give us a good baseline for what skaters need.

Skaters are more than welcome to work on their spinboards at home any time! The better you are on the spin board, the more it will help you move forward.
