Physical Health
In figure skating, your physical health is very important.
Skaters need to eat nutritiously, drink water and get enough sleep to work everyday to their optimal abilities.
You also need to build your immune system and keep yourself healthy as much as possible.
You also need to maintain your fitness levels by taking ballet, doing workouts, and anything else that helps keep your body limber, strong and healthy.
Skaters need to take care of their bodies by taking good care of their feet and by utilizing recovery methods such as foam rolling, stretching, epsom salt baths, etc. More of this is listed in the Resource page.
In skating, besides being an athlete, you are also an artist, and you use your body to create your art so if your body isn’t able to do the things you want it to do, you can’t be the artist you want to be, or you simply can’t move the way you want to.
