Memberships
Skaters who work with me will need two different figure skating memberships:
US Figure Skating or Learn to Skate USA Memberships
Everyone needs one of these memberships. These memberships give you insurance that cover you for anything you do in a skating rink. When you obtain one of these memberships, your skater will also represent the program or club you purchased the membership through.
Learn to Skate USA Memberships
These memberships are good for only skaters who are competing at the Basic Skill and Aspire levels. You cannot take any US Figure Skating tests with this membership. If you need this membership, please connect your membership with “Premier Skating Academy.” It makes things easier for Premier’s insurance.

US Figure Skating Memberships
You can either purchase a membership through a club or you can purchase a membership directly through US Figure Skating and just be an individual member of US Figure Skating. As your coach, it does not matter to me what club you belong to. For the most part, it does not matter, and your club affiliation doesn’t change anything about my coaching. Just make sure you know the club’s requirements to be a part of their club (i.e. volunteer requirements, performance requirements, etc.). If you join a club out of Minnesota, that is totally allowed too.
If your skater is at the Juvenile level or higher and competing NQS, then I will talk with you about memberships or please talk to me if I forget to bring this up. Skaters on this path have other club membership opportunities available to them that they should know about.
You will need to purchase any club memberships through the club’s website or through US Figure Skating (for individual memberships only).
Premier Skating Academy Membership
This membership fee covers your ice time costs, your access to off ice space and equipment and your ability to join classes with other coaches and professionals. The Premier memberships were created to help stabilize these costs for families so they can budget this expense. A membership will be your most cost-effective option, and it will give your skater more opportunities. I only coach on Premier Skating Academy ice times so this is your best option to make sure your ice time fees are covered.
More information about these memberships are available at www.premierskatingacademy.com
