Injuries & Illness

Injuries and illness are just part of life, and it happens. Athletes do have to be more conscientious about preventing illness and injuries than maybe other people, but it will still happen. There is always a build up period after the skater has been off the ice for awhile, and please note, extended injuries and illnesses may delay goals or may make them harder to achieve based upon the situation.

This is just something we have to be understanding and realistic about. We try to make sure there is time in the plan for the uncontrollable to happen, but extended injuries and illnesses can slow us down.

Also, my background is in mental and physical health. I’ve also had to work extensively with trainers and physical therapists. Therefore, adjusting and accommodating for injuring or what a rehab plan is like for an athlete is territory I am very familiar with.
