7/24/26

Danika did a great job working on her backwards loops this week, and she was able to make them bigger and have stronger edges. I know they are boring to work on, but Danika was very diligent.

It is a bummer about Danika’s test, but she has had the right reaction to it~ on Friday, she worked very hard and was positive, and she wanted to work on her Pre-Gold Skating Skills test. Her loop turn pattern is the hardest for her, but she practiced it and worked on it, and she actually did it way better than I’ve ever seen her do it. She also focused in on several other details on her test. I was very impressed with her maturity and resilience!

Danika’s test is nearly ready to go! We have to work on opening up her last pattern a little more, and she is a little hesitant on her powerpull pattern, but that is about it. She did a really nice job this week working on making all of her edges clean, pointing her toes and her presentation. Her double loop and double salchow exercises are becoming stronger too!

6/19/26

Danika’s Pre-Gold test is looking very strong, and she has done a great job working on some of the details with the test. I am hoping to video it next week or the week after. She is ready for it. Danika’s done a great job working to make her axel bigger and working on spotting her head on the take-off. We have been working on double salchow exercises and double toe exercises. Her rotating position has improved a lot on the floor, and she is much quicker getting into her feet into the right positions. Danika is working very diligently and does a great job learning new things quickly.

Danika is doing a really nice job working on her Pre-Gold Skating Skill test! Her edge quality is much better overall, and her choctaws have really great flow. There are a few edges she needs to make deeper for the test, and we are focusing on her presentation a lot (mostly keeping her head up) since that plays a bigger role in this type of test now.

Her axel has become a lot bigger now, and Danika’s has been very diligent about cleaning up her double salchow take-off.

Danika has done a great job cleaning up her axel take-off, and her axels were looking a lot stronger last week!

Test is going really well~ Danika just needs to keep drilling it so that she can “work through” some of the things that are a little weak right now.

Pre-Gold Skating Skills test is coming along really well. Danika has really good flow on all the patterns, and she can do all of the patterns already!
