Coaches
To make all of this work, we have to work with other coaches.
This is fine because other coaches bring a different perspective, say things in a different way to skaters or have a strength that we want to use.
It is also so there are subs available that can work within this business and still get results. I am going to get sick or be gone sometimes. That is where we have to work with other coaches so skaters are still moving forward if I am not there.
There are criteria that we are looking for in other professionals, therefore, I hire on the coaches so that families are not wasting money with coaches that do not work out, and families are not juggling all of the coaches’ schedules plus all of the different bills that normally come with working with other coaches.
It also helps coaches’ with their finances, and with the changes in figure skating, coaches who are not taking skaters to competitions regularly almost always have to work with other coaches, so it is for business reasons we do this too. Then coaches want to keep working with our skaters!
If and when we decide to go down the avenue of formal coaching teams, or if you hit the NQS level, I will be discussing that with you and your coaching team will be defined on your Tenzinga account.
If there is a coach you really want to work with, please let me know, and we can discuss.
Choreographers
Most skaters are becoming elevated enough that we need separate choreography time. You definitely will need choreography lessons if you are competing at a level of skating that is being judged IJS.
Due to the fees that choreographers have, we cannot absorb the choreographer rates into our tuitions.
I will work with families to find the choreographers that fit what the skater needs next in their development and to help with the choreographer contract. I HIGHLY suggest a choreographer contract and many choreographers will ask for one to be signed. Choreographers oftentimes treat a program like a project, and not like another lesson, so the contract helps with that.
Any detailing or segments of choreography that is done during normal training time, is just normal training time.
