Collaboration Guidelines

The collaboration guidelines are in place so other coaches know how I work and what to expect from me. It is also so I have ways to manage a crazy career where it is easy to burn out or forgo your mental and physical health. When I am not at my best, I’m no good for anyone!

In return, I do hope to respect your boundaries as best as I can as well to grow a trusting and respectful relationship with you despite the stress and chaos of our jobs!

  • -I answer texts the fastest, but call me if it’s urgent, and email me if it’s something longer.

-Besides this website, I also use Google Drive, Google Calendar and Tenzinga to communicate with coaches and families.

-I coach when the ice is available, however, I try to keep most of my coaching hours between Mon-Friday.

-My business hours are 9-5 pm Mon-Fri. If you need anything, please text or call or email during that time frame, and you can expect a response then.

-Outside of those hours, do not expect a response. If I do get back to you outside of the hours, it’s just because it works for me.

  • To prevent miscommunications, any texts or emails you send to my skaters, put me on the exchange. You will also have access to skaters’ Tenzinga accounts so that most communication can go through there. We have no secrets in what we communicate with clients.

  • Clients are scheduled by season: Spring (Mid-March through Mid-June) Summer (Mid-June through Labor Day), Fall (after Labor Day through the end of October) and Winter (Nov-Feb/early March). However, ice time and as much scheduling as possible is done one year in advance.

Winter/Hockey season is the toughest to schedule since we’re working around the hockey season.

Clients have until the last day of the month prior to re-adjust their schedule if needed. Re-adjustments during the month are strongly discouraged unless it’s due to illness, injury or bad weather.

Coach schedules are also done by season, or earlier if possible, however, since we are working with humans and a demanding sport, being flexible and willing to adjust is much appreciated.

  • Clients are billed on the first of the month. Their payments are due by the 15th of the month. Coaches are paid on the 20th of the month. I prefer to pay everyone via Gusto to keep things streamlined.

  • When I’m unwell, I try not to coach. I probably will not also answer texts or emails. This isn’t to be rude or to inconvenience people. It is just so that I am my best working professional self. I will try to communicate when I’m unwell, and please understand, I will probably fall behind if I am sick.

  • Please make sure to stay on top of current information whether that is reading through this website, the Premier Skating Academy website or US Figure Skating information. It may save you a lot of questions!
