Andy has fantastic musicality on the ice! We sometimes do “interpretive” on the ice (it’s where the skater skates however they would like to a random song as long as their movements depict the music), and Andy has great movements and very creative ideas. It is a good exercise to help him polish up his lines on the ice. His Basic 6 elements are good, and we are working on him gaining more height on his bunny hops. He has a much stronger landing position on his waltz jumps now, and Andy is becoming a really good spinner! His backspins and sit spins are very centered, and he can tell/is aware when he is spinning on the wrong edge and can fix it while he is spinning, which is really hard to do!

Andy did a great job this weekend! His elements were all really strong in his program. He was a little slow with his backwards crossovers, but it’s okay; I know he was just trying to do a good job with them. He will get better with everything as he keeps skating! He is ready for new challenges~ his waltz jump has a great landing now, and his sit spins have been getting more low this week!

Andy did a great job learning a flip jump this week, and his forward star spin has a much better position to it. He did a great job learning some new edge patterns this week, and his program is looking much stronger. He is pushing harder on his backwards crossovers and keeping his arms up better in the program. He is also holding his edges better before and after the three turns. He also has a beautiful spread eagle glide!

Andy does a great job learning technique, and I love his eagerness to learn! We are working a lot on his edges/skating skills, and he did a backspin this week that was at least 5 revolutions, had straight legs and was on the correct edge!

Andy is doing great! Congrats to him on his great skating at Skate Bloomington, and he is doing really great on the ice this summer! He is great at practicing, and he works really hard and has LOTS of enthusiasm for skating! His backspin has improved a lot this week, and so has his sit spin! He’s done a great job holding them for 10 revolution. Andy learned his salchow and toe loop this week, and has started working on his half flip and split jumps. He even landed a few clean axel jump on the floor! The technique needs work, but it was clearly 1.5 rotations in the air! We also changed his program to the Basic 5 elements, and he is doing well learning more skating skill exercises!

Andy is doing really well working to make his crossovers smoother in his program and remembering some new choreography. He learns quickly, and he is doing a great job picking up new skating skill exercises (i.e. forward crossrolls and alternating 3-turns) quickly! He is gaining good heights on his bunny hops and waltz jumps too!
